  • Why can't I take my finished piece home with me on the day?
Once painted, the colours appear pale and almost chalky. Only after glazing does your artwork come to life. We need to allow time for your paint to fully dry before glazing, then allow that to dry before firing in the Kiln. This whole process usually takes 5 - 7 days, depending how busy we are. If you would like to create a piece in shorter time this can be arranged, please contact us to discuss.
  • How old does my child need to be to make it worthwhile?
There is no age limit to create a beautiful piece of pottery! We have styles to suit all ages - from plates with handprints and the name of your newest addition to roarsome dinosaurs, great results can be achieved and we are always there to offer guidance and tips or to help finish off a piece.
  • Can I use my painted pottery as I would normally?
Yes! All our pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe - treat it just as you would your normal crockery. The artwork won'f fade or chip off over time as its sealed in the kiln with a glaze.
  • Can I come to your Ohoka Studio?
We are not set up for customers to paint at the studio - its a working studio and where we fire all of the pieces. We can bring everything and meet you at home if you would like a one on one session, or please see 'PAINT WITH US' for where we are popping up next
